How We Rate Tips

Every tip on Best Betting Tips carries a confidence rating from 1 to 5 stars. Here is what goes into it.

Our process

• Form and ratings. We assess recent form, class, and our own speed and ratings figures for each runner or team.
• Conditions. Track condition, barrier or draw, distance, weather and venue all factor in.
• Market read. We watch how the market is moving and look for selections that are overs, where the odds are longer than the true chance suggests.
• Value, not favourites. We back selections we think are good value, which is not always the favourite.

What the stars mean

• 5/5 - our strongest plays of the day, where form, conditions and value all line up.
• 3-4/5 - solid selections we are confident in, with one or two question marks.
• 1-2/5 - speculative or each-way angles at longer odds.

A higher confidence rating never means a guaranteed result. It reflects how strongly we rate the selection relative to its odds, nothing more.

Honesty about results

Every tipster has losing runs. We publish our tips openly so you can judge them over time. Please bet responsibly and only stake what you can afford to lose.
