Ipswich races seven times on Thursday, with the first race at 1:34pm Queensland time (2:34pm AEDT) and the track rated a Soft 5. It is a mostly low-grade card, so we have looked for runners dropping in class or coming off good form. Prices below were taken on Wednesday evening and will move.
Impendor in Race 5 is our headline bet. Hello Dolly Diva in Race 1 and Magic Moz in Race 6 are the other runners we rate highly.

Hello Dolly Diva has won twice from four starts this campaign and drops to an easier race after fifth at Toowoomba. She has drawn the inside and Leslie Tilley rides, so she is a deserved favourite. Swanfels has placed twice from three runs this preparation and has a good record at Ipswich. Cryption’s Desire drops back from Doomben, and Mishani Witness was only just beaten at Gold Coast last time.

Race 2 - The Industry School Class 2 Handicap (800m)

This is an 800m dash and early speed is everything. Sizzleist led all the way to win at Sunshine Coast last start and has a good draw to do it again. We think he is the better value of the top two. Miss Mclaren won first-up last preparation and has placed at the trials, so she is the main danger. Wax On Wax Off drops back in trip, and Raiderlicious is a roughie backing up quickly.

Race 3 - Ray White Ipswich Maiden Plate (1350m)

Star Of Paris was beaten narrowly as favourite at Beaudesert when resuming and should improve second-up. The blinkers come off for this run. Veomas drops back from Eagle Farm and is the favourite, so he is the biggest danger. Zoubuca Shots placed at Warwick and keeps improving, and Worthy Stunnah placed fresh at Warwick and is a long price.

Race 4 - TAB Ratings Band 0-58 Handicap (1666m)
Selection: Sweet Pretender Current odds: $4.40
Sweet Pretender has placed six times from 13 runs this preparation, some of them in town, and drops to an easy race here. A poor run last start at Sunshine Coast can be forgiven. Kharif gets the winkers for the first time and won four runs ago at Port Macquarie, so he is a good each-way price. The Torque Factor has placed in three of four runs this time in, and Gas Brigade backs up quickly.

Impendor is our best bet at Ipswich. He comes down from Randwick to a much easier race, and the Matthew Dunn and Jett Newman combination is a good one. He has a strong finish and should be too good for this field. Addriel has good form at this track and is a big price for an each-way bet. Music Fever won last start at Beaudesert, and Moscow Circus drops back to the country.

Magic Moz should be fitter for her recent runs and has a good draw in barrier 2. She can get a nice spot and is our pick. Lady Tangalooma is resuming after 20 weeks but drops in class and has trialled, so she is the main danger and the favourite. Intrecciato was just beaten at Beaudesert, and Kachina Girl is a long price backing up quickly.

Elnajeeb has the inside draw and drops back to an easier class after fourth at Eagle Farm. He has won at Warwick and placed twice this preparation, so he gets the nod. Azuki won last start at Beaudesert for John Dann and is the danger. Water Lad comes off a win at Gatton, and I’m Nelson should be fitter for his recent runs.
