Warwick Farm hosts an eight-race Monday card, with the first race at 1:25pm. The track was rated a Soft 7 on Sunday night, so wet-track form is worth more than usual, and most of the card is BM72 handicaps where the market is fairly even. Prices below were taken on Sunday evening and will move.

Our value play is King Of Dragons in Race 6. Crescent King in Race 2 is the runner we trust most, but at around $2.30 there is less in the price.

Race 1 - Racing And Sports Maiden Handicap (1600m)

Selection: Koibito Current odds: $4.00

Koibito was only just beaten when resuming at Newcastle and has been in the first three in every start so far, so he looks the right horse to be on at a better price than the favourite. True Tone also just missed last start at Hawkesbury, draws the inside and is the clear danger for the Waller stable. Made In Italy has placed at both runs this preparation and Markos Port has not missed a placing this campaign either, so both are worth including in exotics.

Selections:

  1. Koibito - $4.00
  2. True Tone - $2.80
  3. Made In Italy - $6.00
  4. Markos Port - $7.50

Race 2 - Jacquinot First Crop 2yos Handicap (1100m)

Selection: Crescent King Current odds: $2.30

Crescent King is our most confident pick of the day. He broke his maiden when resuming at Canterbury, has been improving with each run and jumps from barrier one, so he should get the run of the race. Fovea won by a clear margin at Kembla Grange on debut but steps up in class here. Miss Scandal led all the way to win at Canterbury and resumes from a good draw, so she has each-way appeal. Not On My Watch also broke through last start at Hawkesbury and is the roughie to include.

Selections:

  1. Crescent King - $2.30
  2. Fovea - $3.70
  3. Miss Scandal - $5.00
  4. Not On My Watch - $9.00

Race 3 - E Security Group Handicap (2110m)

Selection: Millie De Lune Current odds: $2.90

This looks a two-horse race. We lean to Millie De Lune, who was a strong second at Canterbury last start and now draws the rail with Zac Lloyd riding. She is having her first try at this trip, which is the only question. Cavalry is the favourite and can bounce back from a seventh at Caulfield, as he will be finishing hard late. My Charm makes a sound place bet, and Fantazy Man is worth forgiving a bad run last time if you want a longer price for exotics.

Selections:

  1. Millie De Lune - $2.90
  2. Cavalry - $2.30
  3. My Charm - $4.20
  4. Fantazy Man - $11.00

Race 4 - Drinkwise Mile (1600m)

Selection: Storm Season Current odds: $3.00

Storm Season was second over this course last start on a soft track and has been building through her preparation, so the conditions suit. Burn The Sky is equal favourite, comes down in grade and has a tongue tie on for the first time, so she is the main danger. Erina has won twice this campaign and likes give in the ground, which makes her a fair each-way option. Mighty Myrtle is closing well and can sneak into a place.

Selections:

  1. Storm Season - $3.00
  2. Burn The Sky - $3.00
  3. Erina - $9.00
  4. Mighty Myrtle - $8.00

Race 5 - Inglis Ready2race Sale 15 Oct Handicap (1600m)

Selection: Fear No Evil Current odds: $3.20

Fear No Evil was fourth at Caulfield last start, draws well and handles soft going, so he gets the nod. He should be on the speed early. Clancy led and was only just run down over this course last time on a soft track, and he is the one most likely to make it hard for the favourite. Fierceness won at Canterbury last start for the Matthew Smith and Zac Lloyd combination, and Dubai Warrior is a long-odds hope after winning at Tuncurry.

Selections:

  1. Fear No Evil - $3.20
  2. Clancy - $4.80
  3. Fierceness - $7.00
  4. Dubai Warrior - $10.00

Race 6 - Schweppes Handicap (1400m)

Selection: King Of Dragons Current odds: $4.60

This is our value play. King Of Dragons draws barrier one, should lead or sit on the speed without doing any work, and Coriah Keatings’ big claim brings the weight down. He was third at Canterbury last start after a strong run. Verbil was closing well at Randwick and is the main threat if the tempo is quick. Art Volant was close up at Newcastle first up, and Zale has placed several times this campaign.

Selections:

  1. King Of Dragons - $4.60
  2. Verbil - $6.50
  3. Art Volant - $6.50
  4. Zale - $10.00

Race 7 - Toyota Forklifts Handicap (1000m)

Selection: Ice Kool Current odds: $2.00

Ice Kool has won twice this campaign at metro level and drops in class here, with a tongue tie added and less weight. He was beaten a long way at Randwick last start, so the price is short but he deserves to be favourite. Kerguelen resumes after 21 weeks but won first up last preparation, so he is the main danger at a much better price. Silver Wedding has trialled since a 13-week break, and Sweynesday goes well fresh.

Selections:

  1. Ice Kool - $2.00
  2. Kerguelen - $6.00
  3. Silver Wedding - $6.50
  4. Sweynesday - $16.00

Race 8 - Tab Handicap (1100m)

Selection: Whatalegacy Current odds: $2.80

Whatalegacy led and won well at Canterbury last start and has won or placed in every race so far, so he is hard to oppose. Street Artist was fourth at Rosehill and drops into easier company, which makes him the main danger. Bruce I Am resumes after 19 weeks but led all the way to win first up last preparation, so he is worth an each-way bet at double figures. Manukau has Tommy Berry riding and is one for the exotics.

Selections:

  1. Whatalegacy - $2.80
  2. Street Artist - $5.00
  3. Bruce I Am - $10.00
  4. Manukau - $13.00
