NBA Analysis for Play Offs – Thursday, 7th May 2026

The Knicks and 76ers look set for another high-intensity playoff clash, with New York’s strong starts and Philly’s star power creating plenty of intrigue. The Timberwolves vs Spurs matchup is equally exciting, with Victor Wembanyama expected to dominate a major role again while Minnesota’s shooting depth keeps them dangerous. There looks to be some strong…

New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers

The Knicks have made a habit of starting fast this postseason and their defensive pressure has consistently put teams on the back foot early. Philadelphia struggled badly in opening quarters last game and will need a much sharper offensive start to avoid falling behind quickly again.

Selection: Knicks 1st Quarter -1.5 @ $1.90

Paul George continues to benefit from the defensive attention placed on Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, giving him plenty of clean scoring opportunities within the flow of the offence. Even in limited minutes last game he cleared this number comfortably, and a more competitive contest should only boost his shot volume.

Selection: Paul George Over 15.5 Points @ $1.90

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been extremely active on the glass throughout the playoffs and New York’s style of play continues to create rebounding chances for opposing wings. With Joel Embiid often dragged away from the rim defensively, Oubre is well placed to attack loose boards again.

Selection: Kelly Oubre Jr. Over 5.5 Rebounds @ $1.90

Both teams have enough offensive firepower to push this game into a higher-scoring battle. The Knicks are shooting with confidence, while Philadelphia should improve offensively after a slow start in Game 1, setting this matchup up for a stronger scoring output overall.

Selection: Over 212.5 Total Points @ $1.90

Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs

Naz Reid continues to provide instant offence off the bench and his confidence from deep has been a major weapon for Minnesota. With the Timberwolves likely needing scoring bursts throughout the game, Reid should again see plenty of perimeter looks after knocking down shots efficiently in Game 1.

Selection: Naz Reid Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made @ $1.90

Victor Wembanyama remains the focal point of the Spurs on both ends of the floor and his rebounding numbers continue to trend upward. He generated plenty of opportunities on the glass last game and with heavy minutes expected again, another dominant rebounding display looks likely.

Selection: Victor Wembanyama Over 12.5 Rebounds @ $1.90

Dylan Harper brings energy and pace whenever he’s on the floor and San Antonio will likely look to play faster after a sluggish opening performance in the series. His ability to contribute across points, rebounds and assists makes this number very achievable if the game stays competitive.

Selection: Dylan Harper Over 17.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists @ $1.90

Wembanyama creates enormous matchup problems for Minnesota because of his ability to stretch the floor and attack off the dribble. Despite a poor shooting night from outside in Game 1, he still generated strong scoring chances and should bounce back offensively with another high-usage role.

Selection: Victor Wembanyama Over 26.5 Points @ $1.90
