Pakenham Racing Tips

Race 1 – Ladbrokes Odds Surge Maiden Plate (1100m)

Shades Of Pink has jumped out well, including on the synthetic, and looks ready to make a strong debut. Leah Jet has also trialled quietly but well and has already attracted market support. Boridi can improve back on drier ground, but Shades Of Pink looks the one to beat.

Selections:

  1. Shades Of Pink – $2.50
  2. Leah Jet – $5.50
  3. Boridi – $6.50
  4. Just Magic – $17.00

Race 2 – Become A Southside Racing Member Maiden Plate (1400m)

Lotta City has run well in two starts this prep and the form around those runs has stacked up nicely. The rise to 1400m looks ideal and she should get every chance to break through. Sunset Trail is the danger fresh, while Jenni Bassett can improve.

Selections:

  1. Lotta City – $2.00
  2. Sunset Trail – $4.60
  3. Jenni Bassett – $6.00
  4. Representative – $8.50

Race 3 – AWM Pakenham Maiden Plate (1600m)

Dr Davinci has been consistent this campaign and comes off a solid third at Seymour. He has tactical speed and should be able to put himself in the race. Shindy is the obvious danger after a narrow last-start miss, while Blanche Bass can run well fresh.

Selections:

  1. Dr Davinci – $4.40
  2. Shindy – $2.10
  3. Blanche Bass – $5.50
  4. Eye Tracker – $11.00

Race 4 – Cookers Bulk Oil System Handicap (1600m)

Easy Dun looks well placed from the inside draw and should appreciate the synthetic surface. His Swan Hill run was strong in a better race and he has the right profile for this. Princing and Savamoon both have claims, but Easy Dun looks the better value.

Selections:

  1. Easy Dun – $5.50
  2. Princing – $5.50
  3. Savamoon – $6.00
  4. Finance Shogun – $9.50

Race 5 – Bunyip Equipment Handicap (1200m)

That’smoneybrother has been racing well this preparation and looks ready to bounce back from a plain run at Sale. Pravaha brings last-start winning form, while Flying Mean can improve second-up at Pakenham. That’smoneybrother gets the nod in a very even race.

Selections:

  1. That’smoneybrother – $4.20
  2. Pravaha – $3.70
  3. Flying Mean – $9.00
  4. Battle Of The Ice – $7.50

Race 6 – Next Payments Handicap (1000m)

Mafee loves the Pakenham synthetic and comes off another strong run at this track. He has the race fitness and course form to take this out. Astari resumes with trial form, while The Opportunist and Shocap both have claims.

Selections:

  1. Mafee – $3.00
  2. The Opportunist – $5.00
  3. Astari – $7.00
  4. Shocap – $11.00

Race 7 – Duffy & Simon Lawyers Handicap (1400m)

Lady Elsa resumes off a trial win and looks well placed in this grade. The Negotiator maps perfectly from barrier one and is a genuine threat, while Military Base can improve second-up. Lady Elsa looks the runner with the most upside.

Selections:

  1. Lady Elsa – $5.00
  2. The Negotiator – $8.50
  3. Military Base – $10.00
  4. Give Some Lip – $6.00
