Geelong racing tips for Wednesday June 3 feature a tricky Heavy 8 program with several lightly raced runners and a few strong form lines dropping back from metro grade. We’ve gone through the card to find the best bets and value tips across all nine races.

Race 1 – Ladbrokes Hosted Pots 2yo Maiden Plate (1212m)

Selection: Resonant (No.7)
Odds: $3.60

Resonant gets a significant class drop after racing at Flemington and looks well placed back in provincial company. With limited exposed form among the majority of rivals, the stronger race experience stands out. Insolence has talent but the race fitness edge swings the vote to Resonant.

Race 2 – Mirnee Electrical Solutions Maiden Plate (1212m)

Selection: Bold Secret (No.2)
Odds: $2.60

Bold Secret resumes off a solid effort at Pakenham and gets blinkers applied for the first time. The favourite maps well despite a wide draw and looks ready to improve second-up. Flying Capital is a major danger after handling heavy ground well at Warrnambool.

Race 3 – Oasis Turf Maiden Plate (1412m)

Selection: Triumvirate (No.7)
Odds: $5.00

Triumvirate has been knocking on the door and was only narrowly denied at Wodonga last start. Four placings from four runs this preparation suggests a win is close. The draw is favourable and this looks an ideal opportunity to break through.

Race 4 – Kelly Sports Geelong Maiden Plate (1715m)

Selection: Rainsun (No.4)
Odds: $3.40

Rainsun was excellent on debut at Wodonga, sticking on strongly after racing prominently throughout. Natural improvement second-up makes this a very appealing setup. Pari Moi has claims from the inside draw but Rainsun looks to have the greater upside.

Race 5 – Naked Home Loans BM62 Handicap (1715m)

Selection: Baywatch (No.11)
Odds: $4.40

Baywatch returns to easier company after racing in stronger grade and should appreciate the class relief. The freshen-up may prove beneficial and the gelding has the form to measure up here. The Mansman is a value runner capable of charging late.

Race 6 – Geelong And Coastal Hire BM62 Handicap (2418m)

Selection: Thurmond (No.3)
Odds: $6.50

Thurmond gets every chance from barrier one and should secure a perfect run near the speed. His recent Geelong placing was encouraging and the step to this trip looks suitable. At the current odds, there’s genuine value compared to some of the more exposed rivals.

Race 7 – Associated Cold Tread Tyres BM62 Handicap (1112m)

Selection: Bazzar (No.4)
Odds: $4.20

With key rivals scratched, Bazzar looks well positioned first-up from a favourable draw. His previous preparation contained several competitive efforts and this doesn’t appear the strongest BM62. Fresh form and barrier advantage make him the horse to beat.

Race 8 – JP Air Conditioning BM62 Handicap (1312m)

Selection: Join The Que (No.6)
Odds: $4.20

Join The Que has been remarkably consistent this campaign, winning once and placing in every other start. The gelding is thriving and should again settle in a prominent position. His current form profile is arguably the strongest in the race.

Race 9 – Ladbrokes Geelong Cup On Sale Now BM62 Handicap (1312m)

Selection: Godtfred Kirk (No.5)
Odds: $5.00

Godtfred Kirk hit the line strongly at Pakenham first-up and looks ready to peak second-up. The blinkers come off and the form around that latest run reads well for this grade. If he reproduces that finishing burst, he’ll be hard to hold out.
