Hawksbury Horse Racing Analysis for Thursday, May 14th


Hawkesbury hosts a strong 7-race card on a Soft 7 track, highlighted by the 3Finance Plate over 1800m featuring several progressive stayers dropping in grade. With strong provincial and metro form lines throughout the meeting, there looks to be plenty of betting value across the card.

R1 – Arg Building Services Maiden Plate (1100m)

A tricky juvenile opener with plenty of first starters and untapped talent engaged. Slander has impressed in the trials and looks the horse to beat, while Gridlock can improve sharply second-up after facing stronger company at Kensington. Royal Wootton profiles well from the Waterhouse-Bott camp, while Sondera has the Waller polish and can improve on trial form.

R2 – Gremmo Homes/IMSGlobal Super Maiden Handicap (1100m)

Strong maiden with form around metro grade races. Our Huntress resumes off a very solid preparation and maps to control the race from up on speed. Miss Supernova drops sharply in grade after a smart Kensington placing, while Monocru and Fernweh both have upside and appeal each-way.

R3 – Micway Midway BM64 Handicap (1400m)

A competitive Midway where several runners come through strong provincial form. Up To Mischief has been building towards another win and gets ideal conditions here, while Rebel Rhapsody brings winning form from Wyong and should get every chance from the draw. Tessy Tee races prominently and can stick on, while Koning is a knockout fresh.

R4 – Palin Management Provincial Maiden Handicap (1100m)

Open maiden with several lightly raced runners capable of improvement. Escargoes resumes off a strong trial and looks suited fresh, while Smoke ‘N’ Darts has been ultra-consistent this prep and again maps well despite the gate. Galactic Force gets key gear changes and a stable switch, while Winning Lover has trialled well enough to be respected on debut.

R5 – Griffo Cup BM64 Handicap (1100m)

Quality mares’ sprint with plenty of speed engaged. Raskol resumes off a sharp Randwick trial and looks ready to fire fresh, while Into Brooklyn has been racing consistently all prep and gets weight relief. Nullarbor Jane should improve second-up and River Pat can add value with her strong Hawkesbury record.

R6 – Hudson Trade Centre Mitre 10 BM64 Handicap (1100m)

Sociable resumes with excellent trial form and drops into a suitable grade, making him the clear horse to beat. Myriad should strip fitter second-up and has genuine talent, while Starros gets class relief and can improve sharply. Last Druid is another fresh runner with strong trial credentials.

R7 – 3Finance Plate (1800m)

Strong staying contest to close the card. Made In Italy has been ultra-consistent all campaign and looks ready to break through after a string of placings. The Big Blue drops sharply in grade and can bounce back, while Valentiago and Don’t Tell Polly both arrive off solid recent performances and should be competitive again.
