Warwick Farm Horse Racing Analysis for Wednesday, May 20th

A strong 7-race card awaits at Warwick Farm Racecourse on a Soft 7, with competitive fields and plenty of depth across the program. The middle-distance races look key highlights, while several smart fresh runners and in-form gallopers line up in the sprints.

Warwick Farm – Soft 7

R1 – Ranvet Handicap (1600m)

A competitive opener where (2) Olympian ($2.50) looks well placed stepping to the mile after finding the line strongly in tougher company at Hawkesbury. James McDonald takes over and this is a notable class drop. (5) Tequisoda ($7.50) resumed with a win at Kembla and has a strong record as favourite, while (3) Coulter ($6.00) maps for a softer run after charging home last start. (4) Eleven X ($16.00) can improve getting back onto a wet track and looks an each-way knockout.

Selections

R2 – TAB Handicap (1100m)

A tricky maiden packed with debutants and wide barriers. (1) Portico ($9.00) brings the strongest exposed form after back-to-back placings at metro level and should roll forward despite the gate. (2) Celtic Spy ($12.00) strips fitter after a solid first-up run here and maps to get every chance. Debutant (15) Iommi ($5.50) has impressed at the trials for the Waller/McDonald combination, while (11) Our Emperor appeals from the inside draw after sharp trial performances.

Selections

R3 – All Too Hard @ Vinery Stud Handicap (1100m)

(7) Hello Captain ($2.90) resumes with strong upside after an impressive debut campaign and looks ideally placed fresh off two sharp trials. (5) Bruce I Am ($4.60) has already shown talent and comes off a narrow defeat as favourite at Wyong. Fresh runner (4) Margin Call appeals off a recent trial win, while (6) Fairway To Heaven ($5.50) is racing in top form and should control the speed.

Selections

R4 – Precise Air Handicap (1600m)

(11) Superfabulistic ($2.60) has not missed the placings this preparation and was excellent winning over this track and trip last start. (12) Deepwater Artist was scratched but had been shaping as a major chance on wet ground. (3) Hovland ($5.50) charged home fresh here and can improve second-up, while (6) Mojave River looks ready to peak third-up at the mile.

Selections

R5 – Schweppes Handicap (2110m)

(8) So Suave ($3.20) maps to get the perfect run from barrier one and looks suited back in NSW after contesting stronger races in Victoria. (2) Just Flying ($21.00) has the speed to offset the draw and can improve sharply in easier company. (10) Aussie Nation profiles well at the trip, while (5) Black Babylon should improve significantly second-up over more ground.

Selections

R6 – Asahi Super Dry Handicap (1100m)

(2) Hezdarnhottoo ($6.50) looks ready to improve dropping back in grade and should land the ideal run on speed. (13) Confidentiality ($3.50) has done little wrong this prep and gets out to a more suitable trip after a strong Randwick placing. Fresh runner (6) Formal can fire first-up, while (10) Heuristic ($23.00) appeals as a value knockout with strong trial form.

Selections

R7 – The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1300m)

A deep and competitive closer. (9) Pasadena ($8.50) is chasing a hat-trick and should enjoy a soft run from barrier one. (13) Condone ($8.50) was dominant fresh here and has upside second-up. Fresh horse (18) Three Arrows has trialled sharply and can take catching if he crosses cheaply, while (5) Deep Pleasure looks suited peaking third-up at this trip.
