NBA Analysis for Play Offs – Saturday, 9th May 2026

Friday’s NBA playoff slate features two huge matchups, with the 76ers returning home against the Knicks while the Timberwolves take on the Spurs in another high-pressure clash. Injuries, defensive matchups and plenty of offensive firepower should create exciting, high-tempo games, with strong value appearing across the player markets.

Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks

Paul George has found his rhythm from deep this series, knocking down 9 triples across the opening two games while shooting over 50% from long range in the playoffs. With Philadelphia needing extra perimeter scoring and George continuing to fire away at high volume, he looks well placed to clear his 3-point line again.

Selection: Paul George Over 2.5 3-Pointers Made – $1.90

VJ Edgecombe’s scoring line looks a touch low heading into Game 3, especially with potential defensive changes looming for New York due to injuries. The young guard has shown he can attack smaller defenders and should continue to see strong scoring opportunities whether Embiid plays or not.

Selection: VJ Edgecombe Over 12.5 Points – $1.90

Tyrese Maxey continues to carry a massive offensive workload for Philadelphia, playing huge minutes and attacking relentlessly. With OG Anunoby potentially limited, the Knicks may struggle to contain Maxey’s speed and penetration, opening the door for another big scoring performance.

Selection: Tyrese Maxey Over 24.5 Points – $1.90

Paul George’s expanded role offensively has also translated into more scoring opportunities overall. With Philadelphia leaning heavily on its stars in a must-win home spot, expect George to stay aggressive throughout the night.

Selection: Paul George Over 16.5 Points – $1.90

Maxey’s heavy minutes and fast pace of play continue to create rebound chances for the Sixers guard. In what projects as another high-intensity game with plenty of shot volume, he can contribute on the glass as well.

Selection: Tyrese Maxey Over 3.5 Rebounds – $1.90

Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs

Anthony Edwards continues to evolve as both a scorer and playmaker, with opposing defenses collapsing heavily on his drives and forcing the ball out of his hands. That attention is creating plenty of assist opportunities, and in what should be a fast-paced playoff matchup, Edwards looks well placed to rack up another strong passing performance.

Selection: Anthony Edwards Over 4.5 Assists – $1.90

Naz Reid’s ability to stretch the floor remains a huge weapon for Minnesota, especially against smaller lineups. With the Timberwolves continuing to give him freedom from deep, Reid only needs a couple of clean looks to cash this line.

Selection: Naz Reid Over 1.5 3-Pointers Made – $1.90

Jaden McDaniels has become a reliable secondary scorer, benefiting from the extra defensive attention placed on Edwards. His cutting, transition scoring and improving confidence offensively make him a strong chance to clear this points total again.

Selection: Jaden McDaniels Over 14.5 Points – $1.90
